If Shadowrocket doesn’t appear in the China App Store, first check the Apple ID (now called Apple Account) used for App Store purchases and its Country/Region. Then distinguish between search results, product page availability, and purchase eligibility. This guide is for iPhone and iPad users who haven’t found the correct product page. It walks through where to check your account region, what to review before changing it, and why changing your network route cannot replace changing your account region.
1. Verify the app before checking your store region
Shadowrocket is a paid client released exclusively for Apple platforms and is available only through the App Store. Verify the product page by checking the developer, Shadow Launch Technology Limited, app ID 932747118, and official icon. It is a one-time purchase. iPhone and iPad are the primary devices; compatibility and system requirements for other Apple devices are listed on the App Store page.
The App Store doesn’t show the same app catalog to every account. Your account’s country or region, the app’s availability in that storefront, and device compatibility can all affect what you see and whether you can buy it. If you can’t find the app in the China App Store, don’t assume from search results alone that it’s no longer available. Don’t mistake another result with a similar name or icon for the product.
You can start on our App Store authenticity check to verify these details, then open the product page and check the message shown. Note whether you see “no search results,” “not available in your country or region,” or “device not compatible”—each points to a different troubleshooting path. Seeing the product page in a browser also doesn’t mean your current store account is eligible to buy it.
2. Check your account region under Media & Purchases
Check the account used for App Store purchases, not just the iCloud account shown at the top of your device. They may be the same account, or they may differ. The steps below use iPhone and iPad Settings; wording and menu locations may vary slightly by system version, so follow what appears on your device.
-
Open your account page
Open Settings, tap your name at the top, then open the Apple Account page. This is your device’s system Settings, not Settings inside Shadowrocket.
-
Check the purchasing account
Tap Media & Purchases to view the account currently used for purchases. Don’t identify your App Store account based only on the email address shown on the iCloud page.
-
View your account
Tap View Account and complete any authentication steps requested by the system. If prompted to sign in, first make sure you’re using the account you use for purchases, then continue.
-
Check the region
Open Country/Region and check the current selection. You only need to verify it here; there’s no need to tap Change Country or Region right away.
-
Check the App Store again
Return to the App Store, tap the account icon in the upper-right corner to verify which account is signed in, then search for the full name Shadowrocket. If the result is still unclear, open the product page from the authenticity check page and follow the message shown.
For your own reference, note whether the accounts match, the current country or region, and the exact message shown. Don’t share personal information from your account email, payment details, or order screenshots. If two devices show different store content, check this path on each device instead of repeatedly restarting or changing the device language.
3. Before changing your country or region
Changing your account country or region affects the entire store account, not just Shadowrocket. First confirm that you meet the target region’s account and payment requirements, and consider the impact on existing purchases, subscriptions, and Family Sharing. Don’t repeatedly try to change regions to fix a search issue without checking your account status first.
- Account balance: You’ll generally need to spend your Apple Account balance first. If the remaining balance is too small to use, check the Apple Support options on your device for help; don’t assume your balance will carry over to another region.
- Active subscriptions: Check Settings → your name → Subscriptions. If a subscription is blocking the region change, cancel it and wait for the current subscription period to end. Turning off renewal alone doesn’t mean the subscription has expired.
- Pending transactions: Check for pre-orders, rentals, memberships, and pending refunds. The system may require these to be resolved before you can continue; follow the specific notice on your account page.
- Family Sharing: Being part of Family Sharing may prevent a region change. Understand how leaving could affect shared purchases and services before proceeding; don’t change your family settings just to bypass a prompt.
- Payment and billing: Prepare a valid payment method accepted in the target country or region, along with accurate billing information. Whether you’re offered an option to omit a payment method depends on the account flow, so it can’t be guaranteed in advance.
- Existing content: Store catalogs can vary by region. Before changing regions, check which purchased apps and content you need and learn what conditions apply to downloading them again. Don’t assume every purchase will be available in every region.
Once you’ve completed these checks, follow the system prompts under Country/Region, review the terms, and provide the required information. If the change is still declined, address each stated reason instead of changing your network and resubmitting repeatedly. For questions about account eligibility, balance, or payment verification, contact Apple through its account support channels.
4. Tell search, region, and purchase issues apart
Keep the exact message shown, then identify where the problem occurs. These situations can all look like the app is missing or unavailable, but they don’t have the same fix.
It doesn’t appear in search, but the product page opens. What should I check?
Verify app ID 932747118 and the developer, then check the button and message in the App Store. Search ranking and keywords aren’t the same as storefront availability. A product page displayed on the web also doesn’t prove that your current account can buy the app. Use the purchase flow in the App Store as the deciding reference.
It says “not available in your country or region.” Should I change my phone’s language?
First check Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Changing your phone’s language or date format won’t change the purchasing account’s region or the app’s availability in a storefront.
I changed my region. Why am I still seeing the old storefront?
Open View Account again to confirm the change was completed, then check whether the App Store is using the same account. Close and reopen the App Store to refresh it. If the message still doesn’t match, note the exact wording and contact Apple Support; there’s no need to sign out of your entire iCloud account to troubleshoot.
A payment verification or device compatibility message appears. Is this still a region issue?
For payment verification, check the purchasing account’s payment details, billing address, and pending orders. For device compatibility, check the Compatibility section on the product page. System requirements are as listed on the App Store page. Neither issue should be addressed by changing your account region alone.
5. Global Routing does not change your store region
Your account region is a store account setting; your network route is a connection setting. Even if Shadowrocket is installed, changing Global Routing on Home won’t change Country/Region. If you haven’t obtained the app, you can’t use its settings as a prerequisite for completing an App Store purchase.
The following compares three common routing modes in Shadowrocket to distinguish how connections are handled from which storefront provides content. These suggestions are for everyday routing when the app is installed and you already have a suitable configuration; they won’t resolve store region restrictions.
Config
RecommendedConnections are handled according to the rules and policies in the active configuration. Whether a connection uses a proxy depends on the matching result. Config doesn’t automatically route every address outside your region through a proxy, and it won’t change your Apple purchasing account details.
Best for: Using a verified configuration to route everyday connections according to its rules.
Direct
Sets connections handled by this routing mode to go direct. You can switch to it to check whether network requests start working again. Even if the store page loads, you’ll still need to check your account region and purchase eligibility separately on your system account page.
Best for: Temporarily checking whether the issue is related to the proxy connection route.
Proxy
Routes connections handled by this mode through the selected proxy instead of choosing a path based on Config’s routing rules. This changes how connections are handled; it doesn’t guarantee that the App Store will show a different region’s catalog.
Best for: Temporarily checking the proxy route when you already have your own service provider and connection configuration.
Similarly, Settings → On Demand controls connection behavior when its conditions are met; it doesn’t manage your account region. For a page load timeout, troubleshoot the network. For a specific country or region notice, check your account settings. Identify the error first to avoid mistaking an account issue for a routing rule issue.
6. Buy and set up the app after checking your account
Once you’ve confirmed the store region, purchase eligibility, and device compatibility, follow the product page to buy the app. The currency and price shown are those of your current storefront; don’t estimate your payment using a price shown in a screenshot from another region. After purchasing, keep the purchase record in your account. To download the app again on another device, check which purchasing account you’re using and whether the purchase applies there.
- Open the App Store from the authenticity check page and verify the name Shadowrocket, official icon, developer, and app ID. Make sure it isn’t just a search result with a similar name.
- Review the current price and compatibility details, then follow the system prompts to complete payment and installation. Check the App Store page for system requirements and applicable purchase terms.
- After opening the app for the first time, use the getting started guide to learn about Home, Config, and Settings. Buying the client ≠ buying a connection plan; purchasing the app does not include a connection service.
- If you need to import connection details, you must already have your own service provider and subscription. You don’t need to share a subscription link to check your store region. Don’t send sensitive connection details to anyone to troubleshoot an App Store account issue.
